Perceptive HR Technology

A Customer ‘Lovefest’

October 11, 2007 · Leave a Comment

We spent most of yesterday at the HR Technology conference in briefings with press and analysts talking about our product announcement (Strategic Human Capital Management).  At each of those briefings, we brought customers along to share with the folks why these organizations had selected Lawson.   Apparently this is an uncommon occurrence — three of the people we met with said how much they liked it and how rarely it happened.  We’ll be doing more of it.

I must say that we do have great relationships with these customers.  We should — they’ve been helping us (along with about 150 others) for the better part of two years.  While we were talking to an analyst, he wanted to know how we managed to find two people so enthusiastic about what we were doing.   I didn’t share it with him, but we earned it.  We listened, we reacted and we invested heavily in getting to know their people and their company.  Most of all, we are acutely aware that it takes months (even years) to build the relationship, but only a day or two to damage it.

So we had a lovefest with our customers today (like we try to do most days) and enjoyed sharing it with a few people at the conference.  Now we’re going to go back to the important work of keeping it that way.

Jo-Anna, Becca, Brenda, ML, Kara, Kristin:  thanks!

Enough of my softer side — I have to get ready for the big battle this afternoon and that means boxing gloves and a big attitude:  Game On!
